Three different modes: Mode 1 measures the direct distance and the elevation degree. Mode 2 measures the direct (actual) distance, the degree of elevation, the horizontal distance, and the vertical distance between the horizontal and actual distances. Mode 3 displays all of the measurements from Mode 2, but in this mode these distances are sampled continuously as you move the viewfinder target field around and view different objects.
